5 Things You Should Do While Traveling

Travel planning is never as easy as initially anticipated, so we’ve taken some of the guesswork out for you to have the best vacation possible. Follow these few tips and tricks, and you’re sure to have a blast.

Book One Event

Often, vacations are jam-packed with spontaneous photo opportunities and excursions, but having at least one item on your itinerary planned can provide you with a little time to slow down, sit back, and relax. A trip to The Big Apple is sure to be filled with fantastic food, a few good stories to tell from your time navigating the subway, and at least one bracelet “gifted” to you on the streets, but nothing quite beats walking down Broadway knowing you’ve already secured your seats. You’ll be able to avoid the scramble and scalpers by nabbing your Saturday matinee Dear Evan Hansen Tickets long before you even board your plane.

Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Vacation is the perfect time to break out of your comfort zone a bit; in fact, it’s almost expected of you. Try out those funky boots you’ve been too nervous about removing from the back of your closet, eating the strangest, ugliest food you run across, and just let loose. Don’t be afraid to participate in some of the more touristy activities surrounding you.

Capture Memories

Be sure to take plenty of photos to show off to your friends and coworkers upon your return, and though it may be tempting to keep your social media followers up to date during your trip, be wary of sharing too much information. Posting a countdown to your vacation or tagging yourself at the airport is the same as posting an open invitation to burglars and home invaders. Posting your photos and memories after your return is perfectly fine, but be sure to also respect the safety of your fellow travelers by not posting or tagging while they are away from their home.

Make The Most Of Your Day

Vacation is the time for you to kick back, but that doesn’t necessarily equate to sleeping in. Wake up early, hit up the best local breakfast spots in Homewood, AL and head out for the day. If you’re up to it, make the hour and a half drive to Montgomery and visit the F. Scott Fitzgerald Museum, or go a bit further and take a tour of the notorious FAME recording studios, witness the room where the likes of Etta James and Aretha Franklin recorded some of their most iconic music.

Remember To Be Flexible

Of course, you could plan every second of your day for your entire vacation, but we all know that nothing ever runs that smoothly. The best thing you can do to ensure everyone has a good time is to be flexible—tires will go flat, reservations will fall through, and phones will break. So, plug this address into your GPS: uBreakiFix Homewood 1919 28th Ave S #141 Homewood, AL 35209 (205) 870-8858, drop your phone off to be repaired, and cross iPhone repairs in Homewood, AL off your travel to-do list so you can get back to having a good time.

Whatever you decide to do, take your time, soak it in, and embrace the culture around you. Just remember to plan at least one activity for you to look forward to, try something new that is a little outside of your comfort zone. Maybe bring a backup camera to capture memories with your friends and family to look back on and enjoy. Most importantly, make the most of your time away from the office, and keep your schedule loose enough for unexpected pit stops and adventures.
